An online course that prepares students for the real world
Machine was contracted by Studio123, a web and graphic design agency in Sudbury, Ontario, to develop a solution for their client’s online learning initiative.
With their completed designs in hand, our development team used WordPress as a base, and installed plugins to help support the required functionality. The many unique pieces of the website required our developers to heavily customize WordPress.
Each customization was made in a way that allows website managers to continue to manage the entire site via WordPress, with no technical skills required. Managers can also update WordPress and its plugins without fear of interfering with the customizations.
Users can now register and pay for a course, complete each required course module in order, and generate their certificate of completion online. Advanced reporting allows website administrators to monitor students’ progress, and reach out to them should they spot a problem.
Students can also return after they’ve completed a course and purchase additional modules for review purposes.
The entire website is bilingual (English and French), and is also fully mobile-responsive. Machine staff continues to add features and maintain the website.
