Invest Ottawa

If you’re from Ottawa, you’ve probably heard of Invest Ottawa. If you’re an entrepreneur, an up & running business or you have a mature company, Invest Ottawa is targeting you. We worked with Invest Ottawa to restructure, redesign and redevelop their entire online experience, producing a highly interactive WordPress website.

Invest Ottawa receives thousands of visitors per day, so we did some investigating in the initial stages to figure out how visitors were engaging. We installed Crazy Egg’s heat mapping and scroll reports on their previous site to determine what worked and what didn’t. We worked together to minimize the amount of content on the homepage to better direct the user.

Strategically focusing on the 3 main target audiences helped streamline the website. We built a custom video impact area designed to immediately guide the user in their desired direction.

Invest Ottawa is huge on events, and from our Crazy Egg investigation we were able to confirm that their visitors were too. We needed to give all users an easy way to get to their events, so we created a scrollable layout to promote upcoming events and workshops to lead visitors to specific events or to the main event calendar.
